Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services

1. Role of Zappy

Zappy operates as a booking platform connecting passengers with licensed taxi and private hire operators throughout the United Kingdom.

Zappy acts solely as an intermediary and booking agent. Zappy does not provide transport services, does not employ drivers and does not operate vehicles.

2. Transport Services

All transport services are provided by independent licensed operators.

The contract for the journey is between the passenger and the operator providing the transport service.

The operator is solely responsible for the provision of the transport service, including the driver, vehicle, routing, journey performance, licensing, insurance and compliance with applicable regulations.

3. Booking Requests

Zappy receives booking requests and arranges transportation through licensed operators.

All bookings are subject to operator availability. Submission of a booking request does not guarantee acceptance by an operator.

Where required by applicable private hire licensing regulations, Zappy may accept and subcontract bookings to licensed operators.

4. Payments

Zappy may collect payment on behalf of operators as their disclosed agent. Payment made by a passenger to Zappy shall discharge the passenger's payment obligation to the operator in respect of the journey.

The total amount paid may include:

  • The operator's fare for the transport service.
  • A separate Zappy booking fee, service fee or commission.

Zappy retains its commission or service fee for arranging the booking.

5. Pricing

Journey prices are determined by reference to operator rates and marketplace pricing mechanisms.

The total displayed price may include a booking fee, service fee or commission retained by Zappy.

All prices displayed to passengers are inclusive of any applicable fees unless otherwise stated.

6. Booking Amendments

Requests to amend a booking are subject to operator availability and may result in additional charges.

Zappy cannot guarantee that requested amendments can be accommodated once a booking has been accepted by an operator.

7. Cancellations

Cancellation requests should be made as soon as possible.

Cancellation charges may apply where:

  • A driver has been allocated.
  • A driver has been dispatched.

8. No-Show Policy

Passengers are responsible for attending the agreed pickup location at the agreed time.

If a passenger fails to attend the pickup location within a reasonable period, the booking may be treated as a no-show.

In such circumstances, charges may apply up to the full booking value.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Waiting time.
  • Additional pickups or drop-offs.
  • Route changes requested by the passenger.

Complaints relating to:

  • Driving standards.
  • Route selection.
  • Vehicle condition.
  • Delays.

Zappy may subcontract bookings to licensed operators where permitted by law.
